The world premiere of the film "Hard Boiled/Lat sau san taam", created by Hong Kong filmmakers in the genre of crime Thriller and action, took place on April 16, 1992. This film did not appear at the Russian box office, but it can be found on the Internet on sites that provide online movie viewing services.
The film is old, it is quite suitable for the category "retro", but I watched it recently, when my son, at my request to suggest a good film of the past years, advised me to pay attention to the filmmaking of Director John Woo, and in particular to this film. However, he immediately warned me that I might be shocked by the huge number of corpses and bloody scenes.
I must say that I am not a fan of this, but still decided to watch this movie. After the first scene that took place in the tea house, I had a desire to stop watching, but my son advised me not to hurry, to continue watching, promising that the film would be interesting. And indeed, as the story progressed, my opinion of it changed, I became interested in watching the twists and turns of events unfolding on the screen, especially since the actors-Chow Yun-Fat, Tony Leung Chu Wai, Teresa Mo, Philip Chan, Philip Kwok, Anthony Wong and others who starred in this film, perfectly coped with their roles. Among them, especially stood out Chow Yun-Fat as a brave police officer nicknamed Tequila, who tries to single-handedly deal with a large gang that sells weapons, and Tony Leung Chu Wai, who played a rather complex role of an undercover police officer. By the end of the film, they had created an inimitable and invincible tandem.
In principle, I liked the film very much. It has a lot of scenes of chases and shootings, and although the plot itself is quite simple, which is typical for films of this direction, but it looks very easy and exciting. Perhaps the fault is the magnificent charisma of the main character, his attractiveness. In addition, there are a lot of scenes with a wonderful sense of humor that gives the film a special charm. And most of all, I liked the scenes of saving babies at the end of the film.
The film will definitely appeal to fans of action movies and crime thrillers, and even those who, like me, are not a fan of these genres, but just like a good movie with talented actors.
