Yay! Agents of SHIELD is back! And man oh man, were all our predictions blown out of the water.

Following last seasons cliffhanger where the top Shield agents are all taken away by a strange group and Coulson wakes up staring out at space, this season begins by showing exactly how that happened, up to the point where they are taken to a monolith much like the one that trapped Simmons two years ago, and it transports them into Space, to a human colony facility run by Kree soldiers under the leadership of a Kree called Kasius.

Except it's not Space at all! It doesn't take long before the agents discover that they have been sent not through space but through time. The facility they are in was built about a century ago, on the remnants of the pieces of asteroids that were once Planet Earth. They have been sent to the future. Unfortunately, the person who welcomes them, a man called Virgil, is killed before he can tell them anything other than they have come to save humanity, leaving the agents stuck with a brigand called Deke who doesn't want anything to do with them for fear of the Kree, and a girl called Tess. Kasius has the place under tight control, and soon, he takes Jemma, who is still wondering why Fitz wasn't sent with them and makes her one of his personal, deafened servants.

Meanwhile, Daisy follows Deke and discovers he has a secret business of placing persons in a framework-like reality of how Earth used to be for a few hours at a time, created from tech and material he was able to get his hands on after the Kree had destroyed everything left of human civilization. She follows him in, but he himself is not there as a form of escapism. He is there to find some old information --information that reveals Daisy is the famous Shield agent Quake who, according to all hechas pieced together of history, is the one who destroyed the Earth by quaking the planet apart.

Coulson, May and Mack have blended in by finding 'work' with one of the human gang leaders in the colony, but what's going on? Who zapped them there? Why? And did Daisy really destroy the Earth?
We'll just have to keep watching to find out!

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns next Friday on the CW with 'A Life Spent'.
