HTGAWM is a crime and law TV series with the main cast being Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) and other co-stars. The season one of HTGAWM begins with Annalise being a professor of a prestigious university selecting five law students to work and practice under her which include Michaela Pratt, Connor Walsh, Wes Gubbins, Laurel castilo and Asher Millstone. Prof Annalise has a reason for choosing these sets of students which was mainly for the encounter she had with a family member of theirs in the past.
In season one Wes Gibbins fell in love with a client of their's "Rebecca" this was the episode of all the drama in this TV series. Rebecca was a suspect in the murder of her friend "Lila Stanguard" who happens to be having an affair with Prof Annalise Keating husband, Sam Keating. In the course of finding out evidence to pin Sam's involvement in the death of Lila and free Rebecca Wes Gibbins and the other law student apart from Asher Millstone got involved in manslaughter which led to the death of Sam. They all come with a means to save themselves and get rid of evidence relating to the manslaughter of Sam Keating.
Prof Annalise found out what transpired and instead of arresting and suing her students for the death of her husband she became a guardian angel who rescued them and devises a means for them to get away with the murder of Sam. The main reason she did so was the guilt she had for being a cause of Wes Gibbins's mother committing suicide and the attachment she has for the rest of the students due to the past.
Rebecca was eventually killed by Bonnie for her constant lies and because she threatened to expose the murder of Sam. Oh sorry! I forgot to mention Bonnie and Frank are both employees of Prof Annalise Keating and both went through therapy sessions under Sam Keating.
This TV Series shows Annalise as a middle-aged black woman who suffered abuse/child rape plus psychological trauma and eventually develops feelings for her therapist "Sam Keating". Their love story and marriage wasn't all that glory, it was unstable. As the season unfolds you got to see more pains Annalise went through and most because she wants to protect the people she loves (her students), lost of her child too. The final breakdown for Annalise Keating was in season 2 when Wes Gibbins was murdered she became depressed and found solace in alcohol and almost got disbarred. Wes Gibbins was not her child but she took him as the son she lost so Wes's death came as a shocker to her.
In each season of this TV series, HTGAWM you get to see different casts getting involved with a murder. None of the main cast was innocent of not having blood in their hands except Prof Annalise Keating who to the society murdered her husband and have her hands stained with blood but in reality, she was just helping those involved in the murder to get away with it and had never got involved in any murder.
When watching this series you got to pray your favorite cast don't get to die for in each season a main character always dies and we are in the sixth season right now after experiencing five major characters being dead in the first five seasons (don't want to be much of a spoiler so I won't mention their names) and other minority characters.
And another peculiar thing about this TV series is that you got to see the main character who acts like a jerk and is unstable and another of the main character who is stable and there to guide everyone in every season. We also have love stories between characters in this series but one thing I love about this series is unity and the way the characters stand by each other in every tragic situation.
If I am given a scale of 1 to 10 to recommend this TV series I will surely give it an 8 (highly recommended) for it's one of my favorite TV SERIES. If you are set to watch this series get ready for suspense and some thrills
