Many people are very fond of Indonesian music but there are also some less fortunate people, like me, who do not like Indonesian music. Therefore in this brief and subjective subject I will give a reason why I do not like Indonesian music;
Unique and Monotonous Indonesian Music Color
Uniform musical colors from every band. What is the difference between music style Ungu, Radja, Repvblik, Julliete, Samsons, Nidji, Jagostu, Element, Dewa 19, etc. (I do not even know anymore band2 Indonesia). If there is a little bit lost lost inedible market. There is no unique color. We should have just called I-Pop namely Indonesian Pop while abroad there is J-Rock, BritRock, American Rock.
Dress Overkill / Fashion Over Music
Dress "excited" like "rockstar" world when their song "mellow" mendayu out. I even had to watch some of Ungu Extra Joss's ad footage to make sure they were really Purple, because their style of dress was over KISS or AC / DC.hehe bands. Also the other bands (so many) were dressed in a very fashionable and fashionable to just sing a sad song. T-shirts and tights plus a leather jacket plus Doc Marten shoes and make-up Gothic is a common feature of Indonesian band is currently inversely proportional to the song they bring. That does not make sense to me.
Music Indonesia Just Love Love and Love
Love, love and love ... a theme that I will definitely meet from every Indonesian song now. Indeed Western songs are also a lot of themed love, but one thing that distinguishes that their love song is not poetry or a string of beautiful words nan touch but rather than the expression of everyday feelings. OK, I still accept if that brought him a solo singer like Delon, Ari Lasso, Baim, Krisdayanti, Titi DJ, Ruth Sahanya, Anggun, etc. but yes kok bands that play rock ... so missing feeling deh ...
Mellow is the Key
Worse yet, because this phenomenon has been very long lasting and continuous then now created the tradition of Indonesian music is "mellow". Who would have thought that we who once gave birth to rock rock bands, such as GodBless, now produce bands classmate Kangen Band.
And oddly enough their music is accepted again by the Indonesian market. In short if in the western (American) bands there are competing to produce the color of the music is more rocky but here all the bands are competing to make music that "if possible as sad as possible".
I've never heard of a Javaindo Music Promoter in class performing a single Purple concert at the Jakarta Convention Center or bringing to Indonesia the saddest outside band. And young people have now become an integral part of these bands. The outer clothing may rock-out abizz but inside her heart the music remains Kangen or Repvblik Band.
Oh yes some time ago have also read an article in the magazine GATRA, there mentioned that the music listeners in Indonesia is only see the songs are not his band so if there is one song that hit yes they like the song doang and not necessarily the band . So the band here is more to create a song based on market tastes. You can see for example.
Nothing Can Capture The Heart
No one goes in heart. Of the many Indonesian bands none of which I really like (except Jamrud, an Indonesian band I've ever bought a tape). This reason is related to the reasons no 1, 2, 3 and 4.
To be honest I am more respectful and fond of the late 80s and 90s era songs such as Gombloh Song, Ari Wibowo, Iwan Fals (formerly) and Farid Hardja. Their songs even though the theme of love is a symbol of simplicity and honesty in music, no poem just straight to the point and most of all no bullshits ..!
I do not want to later in my time regret because in my youth menyiakan-menyiakan opportunity to hear and be part of a more colorful music. Are the 20 years old bands like Radja, Purple, Kangen, Repvblik, etc. the music still exists? I do not think so ...
