Just when you think a truly epic series cant get any better it steps it up a hundred notches! It is no secret I am a HUGE Game of Thrones fan, but I must say that ever since the show surpassed the point of the stories as written by George RR Martin "something" was missing. It just didnt feel the same, it felt like a great show but there wasnt much of a "wow" factor (aside from the occasional wildfire explosion). But this episode HAS BROUGHT IT BACK TO FULL ON "LEGENDARY SERIES" LEVELS!
It didnt feel like a TV show, if you were watching a movie it would have won an easy Oscar. Episode "Stomborn" had EVERYTHING! It had intrigue and tension (Varys VS Danny). It had power struggles from every angle. It had One of the best and hottest sex scenes in the whole series (Greyworm and Missandei) and although. There was a heart melting/killer suspense scene when Arya is surrounded by a pack of hungry dire wolves and she thinks one of them is her long lost Nymeria. Not to mention the OUSTANDING climax in the form of a naval battle between the Uron Greyjoy's iron fleet and the vessales of Yara greyjoy that were to ferry the Dornish army under the banner of Danny.
NOW FOR MY TAKE ON THE STORY ITSELF...
Sansa was better when she was a stupid quiet lttle girl. Now, she lets her emotions run away with her and she runs her mouth at the wrong time! You DO NOT undermine or question your king's decisions publically (especially in front of his lords). Someone needs to teach her the finer arts of the game (I am thinking Little Finger will volunteer for that job sooner or later).
As for Jon Snow, if he is not careful and he may find himself dead AGAIN!
People may think Little Finger is losing his house of cards, but remember he has been choked by another Stark once before and scarred by another and both of those Starks are dead.
Despite what Danny said to Varys and vice versa I think these two will have a rocky partnership when cities begin to burn.
Tyrion, oh Tyrion.... planning an invasion of Casterly Rock (he always wanted it and now he will have to kill his own house to get it on behalf of Danny and the unsullied). It is possible that Tyrion may turn it over to Jaime assuming they both live after Danny takes the iron throne and Jaime somehow turns on Cersei.
Greyworm and Missandei! FINALLY! WHOO! Talk about hot! ;)
I learned that curing Greyscale is a MOTHA!!! >.<
I called it! The iron fleet is the true naval power in Westeros. The iron fleet OWN the seas. Yara's ironborn rebels did not stand a chance against Euron. The poor Dornish were just along for the ride or should I say sinking of the Yara's forces.
Overall an 11 out of 10 for this episode! It was unbelievable!
