@artyudy_Revolution in Teaching and Learning Patterns After the Covid-19 Pandemic
The Covid-19 pandemic changed many things, including the world of education, if in the previous status I reviewed, reduced state expenditure from official travel activities and seminars or centralized socialization, so this time we discuss its effects on our education.
If before, we must and must be present in the classroom to get subject matter from teachers or lecturers at school or campus, as long as this pandemic is present, the activity is almost certainly impossible to do, if it is still being carried out, then the chain of spread of the virus, may or may not be dashed. In response to the above, the government issued a circular and governance of the teaching and learning process in schools and lectures during this pandemic online.
Teaching and learning activities began to be carried out directly using several applications, such as Google Meet, Webex, Zoom, WhatsApp and even Instagram, YouTube and Facebook were targeted to be used as tools during this pandemic.
For some educators such as teachers, lecturers, instructors, tutors have started to have their own YouTube account, the point is to record every explanation of subject matter and courses to be distributed to their students or students. Maybe, for some teaching and learning activities or lectures related to practice, face-to-face meetings are still needed. Even positive, students or students, who usually when meeting with the teacher or lecturer, often do not immediately grasp the intent of the material delivered from a single meeting, through the video recording of teacher or lecturer explanations he can play repeatedly, so that he can be on par with friends who have a better catch.
Then, there are increasingly critical question and answer interactions from students or students to their teachers or lecturers, because when face to face, sometimes limited by time. With the question and answer session through the online application, more and more students are not shy about asking their questions.
What if this pandemic ends? Is this pattern still workable? This is still possible, however, of course there are obstacles for students who are less able, because not every one of them has facilities ranging from smart phones to data packages. However, over time, this problem will be resolved soon I think, there are cross subsidies that already exist and other programs.
Another problem, not all regions have a good internet network, there are some areas that cannot even access the internet network at all. But over time, more and more areas are connected to the internet network. Because from year to year, more and more regions that were not previously connected, today are well connected.
So schools and campuses that require physical buildings and maintenance going forward, may not be needed anymore, more will be saved through it alone. This is exactly the case with our market world, now many online market entrepreneurs are growing, do not need a physical store. Our education world must adapt to this situation. Our school is held in 6 days a week, it can be enough for only 3 days a week, and even then for sports subjects and subjects that require practice only, such as activities in the laboratory and workshops including problems of civilization.
The remaining 4 days, can be used by students for outdoor activities that are more beneficial of course, such as entrepreneurial activities or internships in certain places. Previously, our apprenticeship activities were carried out at vocational schools, so from the junior high school level it was already possible.
My University also switched to online classes because of Corona. I think in many occasions they will keep that Format. But in others you need a location like a laboratory.
I enjoy having to get up only 20 minutes before class. It d take me nearly an hour to get to University. Now I am saving that time
