There is mystical treasure at the end of the magical forest path. You walk through the magical forest and after a long walk you set your eyes upon the treasure. A knight and a wizard appear, blocking your path. The knight states he will strike you down if you tell the truth and the wizard states he will place a death curse upon you should you lie. You are then told you have one chance to convince them to give you the treasure.
What must you say to get the treasure?
There is a grand prize of 0.005 STEEM for the winner and three 0.001 STEEM runner up prizes.
I have decided to double the rewards given if you resteem the post but please let me know you have choosen to do this in the comments by just saying resteem or putting ',r' after you answer or something like that.
The winner is the first correct answer. After 7 days the runners up will be randomly selected. I will use a random number generator and assign numbers to all correct answers and the three chosen will win (It's a small prize but mainly just for fun). After 7 days I post an answer/identify the correct answer and pay out the rewards.
Please remember to follow and optionally upvote if you like this post or give an answer, have fun!
I'd just grab the treasure without saying anything 😂
Or i can say that the wizard will kill me
My thoughts exactly, they didn't say they would stop you!
Well maybe, they were meant to be blocking the path though :P
you say you will not die, get the treasure safely, and live a long life.
If you are lying, the wizard will kill you making you not a liar!
If you are telling the truth, the knight will kill you making it a lie!
I resteemed :)
I'd say "The knight will attack me first", which would mean the knight can't attack me without making my statement true and the wizard can't attack me without making my statement a lie.
So this riddle is solved by making a paradox statement, a fancy word for something that isn't true or untrue.
The statement must include the wizard killing you. This means that once you say this the knight can not kill you as it would make your statement false and he only kills people who tell the truth for some undisclosed reason. The paradox is the wizard bit. The wizards kills lairs. If you state he will kill you than the act of him killing you makes you be truthful and he doesn't kill truthful people. So you haven't told the truth or a lie until he reacts so neither can do anything.
@nerdig is the winner here, so well done.
