A young boy and his father are on their way home from soccer practice when a distracted driver crosses the center line and hits them head on. The father dies at the scene of this horrible car accident, but the boy is still alive when the emergency medical technicians arrive.

This is a very old feminist propaganda riddle. At the time there were very few female surgeons, so obviously one would think of surgeons as male - there was nothing sexist about it. Even now the majority of bone surgeons are male because it's quite physical work. Women can't compete with men on a physical level - it's a physiological fact!
