I think it's because of SegWit2x coming soon. Every currency will either increase after 1 August or completely crash if something goes awfully wrong. So i don't think it's that important for now if it stagnates or not.

Most likely it will still go down a bit right before 1 August.

    I think BTC will take a hit pre 8/1 and everything will have a nice boost because everyone will unload because of the uncertainty with segwit.
