Look, I'll tell you about a girl who was always into music. She's Sidney. Since she was little, she would entertain herself by listening to old records and humming along without thinking much about what she was doing, simply because she liked music. It's not that she knew exactly where she was going, but she did have this idea of singing, although it wasn't something planned in a super organized way. Some call it a hunch, that thing where you feel like it could happen. Well, she always knew or believed that she would become a singer. But a very specific and particular singer. In other words, an opera singer. Her parents supported her from a young age to fulfill her dream of being an opera singer. That's why they enrolled her in a prestigious singing school. She spent most of her adolescence there. But it didn't take long for her to realize something that would change her life forever.
You see, she thought that with singing classes, if she tried hard, she could become an opera singer. The thing is, between so many classes and rehearsals, she realized that what was expected of an operatic voice didn't suit her at all. I don't know, it seemed that no matter how hard she tried, there was always something that didn't fit. What didn't fit was her voice itself. She had a very deep and guttural voice. Therefore, she couldn't reach the high tones that were needed in opera. Obviously, she realized that even if she tried hard to learn, it wouldn't be possible to sing high because her vocal cords already had a low sound.
So, what could she do? Her parents were very sad because they knew it would be very difficult for her to assimilate all that. Since she was little, she always wanted to be an opera singer and now that dream is starting to fade. The worst of all is that it's not her fault, but her physical condition, something over which she had no control. That's why her parents always consoled her by telling her to keep trying. But there came a point when all her friends graduated from singing school except her. She was not advancing because she could not complete the singing tests. At this point she decided to drop out of singing school. At least it was not all for fun, she learned a lot about music and mastered all the theoretical part, of course the practice was another story. It was clear that her talent was in other music where she could show off her deep tone. But where?
After leaving school she temporarily worked as a waitress in a small bar in the city. She worked there for about a year. During all that time she met a lot of people, but especially someone very important, the love of her life. Matt is the love of her life now, she met him in this bar. Some would say it was love at first sight and that is what it really was. One day he came to have a few drinks with some friends and he met her. After that he came to see her every weekend. It was a long courtship but in the end it ended in a beautiful marriage. Sometimes things that happen slowly are the best, like in their case.
But Matt gave her something else very special besides giving him his love. Matt was the leader of a rock band and before he met Sidney the band he belonged to was complete. It remained that way for a while. After Sidney got married about 3 months later the singer of the group left the band and what do you think? They needed a new singer for the band. But she had to be someone with a deep, raspy voice because the band was a rock band, not an opera band. As you can imagine, Matt immediately thought of her because during those months of marriage she had told him about her experience. Well, it turned out that Matt offered the position to Sidney. But in order for her to be approved, she had to prove to the whole group and not just to him that she was the one.
As you can imagine, this took her by surprise because she never imagined that she would be offered this job. She never thought of working in a rock band, her thing in the beginning was opera. But she already knew that it couldn't be possible. Now she had a new opportunity to shine in a place where her voice would fit. Well, she ended up accepting. The following week she goes with Matt to show the other members of the band that she can sing very well. The demonstration is a great success, her voice is perfect for the job, it's even better than the previous singer they had. Life gave her a new opportunity. At last the voice that didn't fit fit. I'm sure she will have many beautiful experiences and success from here on out.
