The flight ticket to Bangkok is only $25 usd or so. I will come back by train/bus for the same price. I do not know why the return flight is so much more, but I will have a lot to bring back anyway, so I would not want to fly and check luggage.
As to the conference fee - ergh...
I hope you can make it too, @littlenewthings. Maybe one day we will meet in KL. Saturday's meetup in 2 hours from me, so I will not be able to go.
Aw it's a pity that you can't make it for the Meetup. I think you can take a train but not sure how far that is. Trains are faster I think.
Regarding the conference, I am hoping I can win the ticket otherwise I will need to scrap every cent or offer my card making services for steem so that I can afford a plankton ticket at least.
I am already stuck with my money for my mom's cornea surgery.
