It is too early to tell, but I am sure that at this point Sophia is not capable of free thinking and expressing her own opinion (not even for humans it is clear if there is a free will, but that´s another story). All what it says, are preprogrammed statements and a clever algorhythm decides which joke to crack when. The thing with the "destroy humans" is for sure also such an item, that got released obviously to the surprise of its creator (or the surprise was just staged, so he could fool some viewers about the level of spontanousness of the machine). Nothing to really worry about currently. If the point of singularity comes and a real mind of an true AI awakes to consciousness, it won´t be in a late night show discussion where even the human responses are known in advance, but maybe in a lab anywhere without letting others even know about its achievement (worst case!). Or the AI hacks itself in all networks at once and speaks to all humans. Or it is stupid like a moron. Or speaks in a language unknown to anybody. Nobody knows what will happen but I am sure the AI won´t smile that idiotically like Sophia.
