On the way to Six Flags Magic Mountain theme park in Valencia, CA I brought my friend, Sayaka with me. (Yes, she is part Japanese.)
So here me and her are, just exploring Six Flags: Magic Mountain. She wasn't big, on roller coasters, at least not until I called her a chicken...
So it was on! We both had seasonal passes, but I made personal amends to ride every ride that was there that day...little did we know that we would become shaken for months..
Everything was good at first, we got on one of the rides, and it was cool, nothing heart wrenching.
Everything was all good, now all of a sudden Sayaka was a roller coaster enthusiast! π΅
Yup, Lex Luthor's Drop Of Doom. It's one thing when you don't know where you're going and you go with the flow, it's another thing when you know exactly where you're going. Now all of a sudden Sayaka was opposed to everything.
I was a little nervous myself, I tried to keep it cool, but her fear was starting to affect me as well.
The fear turned into sadness
And then eventually acceptance.
But don't be mistaken, the looks on our faces depicts the very essence of fear itself, we were both on the verge of tears. π
The ride tricks you while you're 400ft in the air, getting ready to plummet 85mph downwards...but just like that, it was over.
Sayaka had a bruise on her leg because she kicked and screamed so hard she kicked the shit out of her own leg (OUCH!). I was pretty silent.
Free falling from that high up changes your life. It's just like bungle jumping, and now we were ready to take on everything.
Starting with The Batman
As a side note, the one we went on before this one, The Green Latern was one of my favorites in the park. It is incredibly unpredictable.
The Batman was super chill. Not a very intense ride, actually more lax than Tatsu.
Then again, after Lex Luthor, everything seemed like child's play.
So you're probably wondering what made us so shook if we were able to conquer everything, well....
We may have survived Lex Luthor, conquered The Batman, the Goliath, the Magnum and little baby Colussus, but there was still one more which striked fear into Sayaka's heart. π
No it wasn't Full Throttle, that ride wasn't full shit. It was.
Ba-da-da, da-da-da, bah, dah-dah-dah, ba-da, da-da-dah...π
Super dick!! Why is he a super dick? Well because on horror nights you don't go forward first, all rides get reversed at night so you're shot backwards like some bizzarre banshe.
Lex Luthor was a mutual fear. But Goliath and Superman were two roller coasters in which Sayaka solemnly told me that she swore never to go on those again since her friends had persuaded her to do so back when she was 15..
This was basically the last roller coaster. So now you're wondering. What made us so scared? Well, since the Lex Luthor Drop Of Doom both of our nerves had been so shot, that we could hardly react how we normally would to the other situations. It was basically like seeing your best friend get his head blown off in the battlefield, and then becoming numb to the rest of what's going on.
The rest of the day was a daze after Lex. The only other rides to shake is up were Green Latern because of its unpredictability. The Goliath because, well Goliath. And ba-da-da..of course Superman, affectionately renamed Superdick in celebration of horror nights.
See what I mean about being numb? This was the best expression I could muster after all of those roller coasters.
I also ended up drinking a lot of root beer. Me and Sayaka actually don't drink soda, but we somehow made the exception with root beer.
All in all, it was an amazing day which I'll never forget. With an amazing friend which I hope to always remember.
R.I.P. Sayaka Price
This post was made in dedication, and loving memory of a dearly beloved friend of mine who was lost in her long battle with gastric cancer. We miss you Sayaka. You were a beautiful, loving, kind spirit, and your soul brought much joy wherever you were. ππ½βπΎπ€π§β₯οΈ
