Closing the Divide
While a few make their money
kicking balls made of leather,
There are millions who sleep rough,
no matter the weather.
Whilst some will think nothing
of throwing food and drink away,
There are others not knowing
if they'll have a meal that day.
If only some wealth
could be shared all around,
Many more could look forward
to a life safe and sound.
So let's close this divide
between world's rich and poor,
And help bring equality;
to this I implore.
This is my entry for week 9 of @hopehuggs poetry competition - 'Runaway Rhymes'.
