You caught my attention with your comment on my Love and marriage blog. I can't run, I am not the physical type at all, but I love watching marathons, triathlons and Ironman competitions. I did a blog on an Ironman race we saw recently in Durban South Africa. I admire runners and you for all the hard work and training that goes into a successful race. South Africa have the Comrades marathon, that was 90km in the old days, now about 87km. I believe this to be one of the best ultra marathons in the world. On comrades day from 5 am when the starting shot is fired, till the last comrade crawls over the finish line, I watch. Nobody messes with me on Comrades day. Good luck with all your endeavors and training. btw great pic of you there on top of the world!

Thanks for that. ;-)
So far I have only done one ultra. But my goal is to do quite a few more, especially the Gobi March - in the 4 deserts series.
I'm targeting another one in November this year - another 60km run as a buildup to the Tawarera 100km in February.
I'm not what you might call 'athletic' either. I don't go very fast, but that's the point in an ultra - you go slow, but you just keep going.
And they don't call me the 'Trevoready' for nothing ;-)
Good for you "trevoready" Wow, 100km that is far, when you succeed in that one you can come do the comrades the next year! Keep up the hard work!
Comrades might have to be the year after hehehe.
I think I'm going to need quite a bit of recovery time ;-)
