I only managed to squeeze in two runs this week due to my busy hectic (lazy!) life, but enough to keep me up to speed, excuse the pun!
Run 1 - 9K 'long' run around Ranscombe
Run 2 - 5K short 'pace' run
9K 'Long' Run
This was MOST enjoyable - and a run I haven't done in a long time - my standard 8K route of old around Ranscombe just with a little 1K extra.
I let myself off the extra K, so one less that 10K because this was hilly and wet and probably actually harder than the usual 10K on the flat in Ramsgate....
This was a really nice run - it started off wet but got sunny half way through, and was nice and muddy.
There was an ultra event going on around part of the route too - with people running for 8 hours to see how far they could get in the time, and I had a little walk and chat with a couple of them en route which was fun!
5K short run
This was tough - windy and cold and wet.... annoyingly the wind was blowing in the opposite direction to usual which made my standard 5K quite a lot harder - 2 minutes slower than usual!
Although I did mix it up from the usual route just because of the damned wind - choosing some street running rather than coastal path as streets were less windy!
This weeks runs - tough going!
It was tough getting out this week as I was busy and it was a matter of cramming things in, but I got them done, and in the colder weather it's harder to motivate oneself!
Still, onward and upward!
I'm with @steevc, running in the mud is annoying! I love the countryside and the wide open views, but having to clean everything afterwards puts me off. I'm definitely a fair weather trail runner!
It can be hard to find time to fit everything in, and doing something is always better than doing nothing :-)
Cleaning? Do you actually clean your running shoes?
Damn, you're putting me to shame!
What!? Good God no.
I run on pavements/tarmac/roads to avoid having to clean my shoes
Thats what people mean by 'train smarter, not harder' isn't it? 😅
The weather is starting to get challenging. Personally I don't consider mud all that nice. It's just a pain to get everything clean. Mind you, if you get through a winter of running you are bound to come out stronger.
!PIZZA
I enjoyed myself, but I had my first treadmill session in a few years earlier today and it was just WONDERFUL!
Sauna after too, NOICE!
I've not been on a treadmill in a long time. I can see the attraction in winter.
I gifted $PIZZA slices here:
