The exhibition fair of Bangladesh's ready-made garment and jute products began in Moscow in Moscow to catch a huge potential for Russia. This solo exhibition fair 'Textile and Jute Fair 2014' has started at the Radisson Hotel in Moscow on Monday. The fair will last till Wednesday.
Saber Hossain Chowdhury, President of Parliamentary Committee on Textiles and Jute Ministry inaugurated the exhibition. Among others, the Bangladesh Ambassador in Russia said. SM Saiful Haque, BGMEA President Md. Siddiqur Rahman, Commercial Counselor of Russia Embassy of Russia Ashfaqul Islam Babul also said.
The speakers said that Russia is one of the world's powerful countries. The country's ready-made garment sector also has huge market. To win this market, the government of Bangladesh has arranged for the first time in a single fair in Russia. If banking and tariff barriers are removed, Russia will be one of the markets after Europe and America.
Saber Hossain Chowdhury said, Russia has many old and trusted friends in Bangladesh. We have significant commercial relations with Russia, in many cases, including nuclear power projects and sending satellites in space. Russia hopes that the trade with Bangladesh will be eliminated soon, he hopes to remove them soon.
It is learned that only one and a half percent of Bangladesh's total export earnings comes from Russia. Russia has exported $ 34 billion worth of goods till March of this fiscal year. But the country's ready-made garment market is $ 52 billion. Out of the total export time, $ 300 million comes from clothing. Out of the remaining $ 40 million, jute and jute goods worth $ 15 million.
Begum Munnujan Sufian MP and member of Parliamentary Committee on Jute and Textile Ministry attended the ceremony. Md. Enamur Rahman MP Textiles and Jute Ministry, Export Promotion Bureau and Bangladesh Embassy organized the exhibition. The exhibition will try to increase the market from the former Soviet Union to Uzbekistan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan.
