Despite appearing to focus on Trump, Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian collusion could really be targeting the Hillary Clinton campaign and Obama administration.
A congressional candidate has suggested that over tens thousand sealed indictments were linked to the Russia Investigation but that the indictments have nothing to do with the Trump campaign.
Brenden Dilley, who is standing in a congressional election for Arizona's District 8, said the Mueller investigation has "revealed absolutely nothing other than Democrat corruption".
"Is it possible that.this investigation is not what it looks like through your mainstream media? Is it possible that 13,600 indictments has absolutely nothing to do with the Trump campaign?" he said.
"This goes all the way to the top of the last administration, President Barack Obama. He was fully aware of what was going on, he was receiving daily intel briefings.. Those daily intel briefings, on the spying within the Trump campaign, made into into Hillary Clinton's hands daily... What you have from this Russian investigation is unequivocal proof of sedition and treason from the prior administration and intelligence community. They must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."
Mueller is authorised to investigate "any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation" of "links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump."
The FISA abuse by the FBI and DOJ on behalf of Hillary Clinton's campaign, in relation to surveillance of Trump campaign member Carter Page, could legitimately be investigated by the Special Counsel. Even the Uranium One scandal could be under investigation by Mueller.
