Another historical day is to be celebrated on the 17th. This time it's the uprising of the people that marked the beginning of the end of the Greek Regime of the Colonels (1967 to 1974).
IT is a day dedicated to Freedom and Democracy and basically a school holiday and a demonstration day from the Polytechnic University to the American Embassy.
There has been a lot of controversy about that day and the true historical facts, therefore I prefer to tell my students that it's a day to celebrate Peace, Freedom and Democracy, without which our lives can be miserable, full of fear and sadness.
During our Art class we made a beautiful craft with a pair of hands holding a dove with an olive branch in its beak.
Could there be a better symbol of peace?
I don't think so!

School diaries looking great
Yeah less is more in this case, you don’t want to confuse them. A dove is a very nice touch.
