As his team-mates pad up in Ahmedabad, back firmly against the wall after losing the first T20 match to Pakistan on Christmas Day, Sachin Tendulkar is away from it all, holidaying in Mussoorie with family, friends and pets. He is staying at a hotel called - Rugby.
Sachin's retirement from limited overs cricket, announced last weekend, has afforded him the break. India play two T20 matches and three one-dayers agianst Pakistan. The next Test series is only in February against Australia. Â
On Thursday, Sachin posted a photo on Facebook; relaxed, in red jacket and blue track pants, the master blaster is sitting beside his two dogs. The caption reads: "This picture was taken at 7am in the morning and the temperature was 3 degrees." The picture has been shared over 13,000 times, has been liked by more than 200,000 people and has more than 11,000 comments, most of them saying "miss you".
The hotel Rugby, belongs to Sachin's family friend Sanjay Narang, also was his partner in the restaurant business. Sachin has said before that Mussoorie is one of his favourite holiday destinations.
The world's most prolific batsmen ended his ODI career of 23 years with statistics that will be difficult to equal. He has scored 18,426 runs in 463 matches.
