Along the old Derby Wharf Pier, downtown Salem harbor, are signs of the working history of the old Seaport of Salem. Large, oak masts, waiting to be stepped. Coils of lines, ropes, and sheets. so, what's the difference

Sheets and Lines

Well, a line is the generic term for ropes on a boat. Sheets, are lines used to control the corners of sails, or booms. And rope? Ropes is the stuff we use to make lines and sheets!
