Sandspollen is a place I visit often if I'm going to or from Oslo - quite often just to sleep, sometimes we go bathing, sometimes we row in land there. By sail boat it's a short day journey from Oslo - like, leave from Oslo just after work and one can arrive there in the evening. It's a big bay with space for quite many boats by anchor. Yesterday evening it was noisy everywhere, this early morning it was so quiet. I counted 101 boats this morning, excluding the dhingies, the local boats in the marina and the boats anchored up at the outside of the bay itself.
Those are my dhingies, visited by a sea gull
This is the exit from the bay. So I'm one of the outermost boats apparently. Yesterday there was a relatively small motorboat behind me, but it was just doing a day trip. Anchoring up throughout the night seems to be more normal for sailing boats than motorboats. The boats in the background is tied up to land, many of them longside, that's quite normal in this area as there aren't much tides.
Taking pictures against the sun can be quite challenging, in particularly when you can't see anything on the screen due to the sunlight. I tried shading a bit with my hand, seems like I succeeded (too well) with that.
Looking at the photos now, I'm disappointed that I forgot to remove my fingers
Not easy to see on this photo, but one of my nearest neighbours is a triple - three sailing boats lying by the same anchor. When I anchored up, the three nearest neighbours was around 25-30 metres away from me, I had around 40 metres of anchor chain in the water and my boat is like 14 metres long. How safe it is to anchor up so tight is an interesting subject ... maybe something for a separate blog post.

Is the water 40 meters deep there?
I remember these seagulls from Norway. The biggest I ever seen and pretty friendly with people to get some food.
Luckily you haven't put your fingers on all of the pictures taken and I can say that the ones who got out "clean" are great. With that clear water I understand you very well for wishing to sleep there. My only sleep experience on a boat was with COLORLINE but it was a bit noisy and can't say that it was something great.
If I had a boat there I would probably spend a lot of nights on it and I would probably do some fishing also.
Did you ever fished there?
No, not in this bay, I've done very little fishing since I moved from the Northern Norway. I'm a bit impatient, if I don't get fish within reasonable time, I give up - and I'm no expert on fishing.
We've been picking mushrooms here. Not exactly in the sea, of course, but on land :-)
Some 10-12 metres deep. It's recommended to use rode length at least 3x the depth, preferably more like 5x. The anchor will stay where it's dropped when the drag is almost horizontal, and will slip when the drag is almost vertical.
A beautiful place indeed.
Hahahaah. Taking pictures through the sunlight isn't easy. You can't see anything on the screen of the camera. Don't feel disappointed. You still have managed to capture some beautiful shots of the water and the boats.
101 boats is too many but why is every boat only white.
Mine is not white!
the side effects of 17 Mai on the sea to a guess
on the noise level. and a lot escaping the city and making there one city.
some fingers :) but u had more without, sometimes am coming home and all of them has fingers....a like the sea gull he adding a nice detail to picture.
Lol
The pictures were so beautiful before you used your fingers to hide them
Great place. Only been there once as a kid. Still remember it
Taking pictures against the sun can be quite challenging though your picture are beautiful. Best place for fresh breeze.
I have never heard of Sandspollen before but I can easily say that I know about this place, and I am feeling happy I'm watching this beautiful place with your eyes.
It is obvious that when we are in a hurry, we do some little and silly mistake like you did with your finger, but we all know your purpose was to capture a wonderful view neglecting the sun disturbance.
Have a good day Mate!
What i like about this place is the greenery.
I don't have such places in my cities where i could much greenery.
Why I am giving importance to greenery?
Sandspollen is really an awesome place which hundreds of boats. This kind of place often busy in the afternoon or evening but quiet in the morning. But i think when it's busy or crowdy then we can enjoy more. Your country Norway is very beautiful, in our country me with my friends often visiting our nearest river by boat. Really it's enjoyable. Thanks sir @tobixen for sharing your beautiful moments with us.
Omg!!! These pictures are beautiful. The water is so peaceful and calm. What a beautiful sight to behold. I close my eyes and wish to be there at the place in the pictures.
Beautiful place !!! The water looks so pure in these pictures
It's a beautiful bay, and there are alot of boats, seagull is claiming it's territory 😂 and yeah it's challenging capturing pictures against sunshine, but you did a great job, triplets are not so clearly visible but one can see for sure, thanks for sharing such beautiful moment's with us 😍

Looks the perfect natural place for sailing quietly...it is almost a lake.
Nice pics man!
These pictures are really nice, it is quite hard to think that you took them inconveniently. The boats look really nice too, with the rays of sunlight sitting on the surface of the sea. The atmosphere looks really peaceful, thanks for sharing this
yes, I am wondering why you uploaded a photo seen from it. I think initially this is art. but some of those photos look amazing :)
