My legacy is to turn the internet into a place where sellers find buyers and genuine sales leads online, instead of the chaos we have now where everyone is fighting to sell what they can and be heard above all the noise.
As a sales rep since the early 1980's selling everything from Vacuum cleaners, Windows and capital equipment, I wished that I 'could meet more clients who were ready to buy, instead of doing all the lead generation activities that took up 75% of a salesman's time, that and learning all the psycho babble we had to know to create the need. We were experts at back foot selling.
Circa 1995, I was as excited as any Sales rep could be to get my first laptop computer, I had visions of how this little thing would revolutionise the sales industry, instead of all those office days banging on the phone all day trying to make appointments, and canvassing business to get compliment slips, we would be able to see all the people in the country on the computer who wanted what we sell, and all we had to do was call and make the appointment and sell.
Dream on!
How wrong was I? The internet just created the same chaotic environment we see offline except that it's online now.
Now when you want to buy a B2B product or service you search the internet and you are presented with thousands of sites who have paid to be at the top and those who are the best at Search engine optimisation, not necessary the best people to supply you with what you want.
Surely it would be easier to find a site where you tell the online community what you want to buy and Sales reps get in touch with you?
Would it not be a Sales reps dream to go to a website every day and be presented with people who are in the market for what they sell?
I believe we have done that, we offer a business directory in 9 countries up to now,and when a company registers on the directory we ask them what B2B and B2C services they are currently buying.. then there is a mind funk moment where their whole understanding of the mercantile world comes to a halt!
"Eh what? We are selling houses, what do you mean what are we buying?"
We reply: " Well you sell houses right? how do you get to and from the appointments? do you have a cleaning company to spruce up vacant houses? Do you provide 'for sale' signs? Do you provide coffee and tea? Do you have an office? Do you have a website, I could go on and on!
Everyday business buys products and services to keep their business running, this information is valuable, we want to know what, and when they tell us, we post this information as leads on our sites.
Then we ask three simple questions
Is it you that makes the decision to buy the services?
Are you looking to buy today?
Do you have the ready cash to purchase today?
We will not post a lead on our site unless these 3 questions are distinctly answered. This is what makes the difference between a genuine lead or not.
Businesses register on our business directories, then we publish their business and share them to 500,000 people on our social media reach, giving them maximum exposure then in return they tell us what they are buying and we post genuine leads on our leads page on our site.
Google; 'Sales leads Thailand' for example
5,000 registered members have found us online and added their business and 25,000 subscribers joined to keep in touch with us and around 28,000 people visit our sites every month, remarkable when you consider I have no budget, its all on the free!
