Hi All,

Salsa belongs to the very rich, culturally exchanged and ancient Latin American Music repertoire, which includes dozens of variations like merengue (Dominican Republic), bachata, cumbia (Colombia), reggaeton, bolero, tango (Argentina), pasodoble and flamenco (Spain), mariachi (Mexico), samba and gafieira (Brasil), son (Cuba),etc.

Contrary to popular belief, Salsa was not born in Cuba, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Peru, Colombia, Panama or USA (where most salsa bands are coming from) but most researchers, studies and experts agree on that it has strong links with Africa.

Therefore, Salsa Music has a 500 years+ very rich history, has been danced, watched or listened to in the five continents : In America, there are the Miami Calle 8 Festival (which attracts up to 1 million people) and Los Angeles’ Salsa World Championship; in Colombia, the Cali’ Salsa World Championship (city that has produced world’salsa dancing champions several times), Barranquilla’ Carnival; in Europe, Germany’ Beer Festival; Netherlands Salsa Festival; England’ Clubs; In India Salsa Music and soccer are big business today; Japan produced one of the most successful salsa bands in its history in the 1990’s, it was called " De La Luz Orchestra" made of original japanese and chinese talented musicians and singers, whom performed in the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City (in 1991 and packed to the rafters), usually booked for the very best in the music business.

Let’s make a trip in time from the Africa’ slave smuggling into America to see and understand why Salsa’ charisma and magic have conquered the world by watching these two videos series.
