Samsung has updated its Flow app with a new feature that allows users to unlock a Windows 10 system with the fingerprint sensor on a compatible smartphone. The app allows one to link their compatible Samsung smartphone with a Windows 10 PC, and enables file sharing, hotspot access and with the new update also allows for biometric authentication through the fingerprint sensor on the smartphone.
The new update to the Samsung Flow app receives support for the Windows Hello authentication system allowing one to use Galaxy S8, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S6 to unlock the PC through fingerprint authentication. The updated app is available for download on Google Play Store, on the Samsung website, and also on Windows Store.
How does it work
You will be first required to install the Samsung Flow app on both the compatible Samsung smartphone and the Windows 10 PC. The app is compatible with Samsung smartphones running on Android Marshmallow or newer, and Samsung tablets running on Android Nougat or newer. Ensure that the PC is running the latest Windows 10 Creators Update. Once you have installed the updated app on both the PC and the smartphone, you can configure its settings. Upon doing so, you will be ale to login into your PC using the fingerprint sensor on your phone.
