E-Vox team has announced the launch of blockchain-based e-voting service e-Vox:NaRada at the City Rada (council) of Balta, a town in Odessa Region of Ukraine.
The project’s main objective is to let the communities know what happens in their local city halls, and to compare it to other authorities. The e-Vox:NaRada project offers implementing electronic voting systems in city halls across the entire Ukraine. At the same time, officials at city councils will have a reliable and convenient tool for decision-making while the state would have a valid database for comprehensive analysis, which eventually may enable it to make various strategic decisions.
Voting results entered in a decentralized database would allow for systematic analysis of information and extracting statistical data as to the efficiency of the decisions being made. Blockchain protocol, on the other hand, would secure the data from any internal or external intrusions.
The system’s prototype has been developed by Vareger.
Earlier this summer e-Vox team passed with flying colors at the EGAP Challenge hackathon held by Ukraine’s State Agency for E-Government. The concept of a blockchain-based e-voting system for local councils was selected for participation in an incubator program and passed to the next phase of the contest.
E-Vox’s implementation in Balta would become yet another step in Ukraine’s blockchainzation. Last week, a bill proposing usage of Auction 3.0, another blockchain-based platform, was submitted for review to the city hall of Bila Tserkva.
