The undertaking of a new action brings new strength. (Richard Evans)

in #saturdaylast month

Most people in the world are like me, and they don't like to do new things. What do I mean by that? We get used to what we are doing, and we end up living our lives following our traditions and habits. As a result, we often get nervous as we have to make changes. Maybe you have to drive the car to work instead of using public transportation?

But, where should you park the car? Will it cause trouble that you are driving on a road that you have never used before?

It is easier to do as always, and new things might be scary.

But, what is the result when you have actually made it to work driving a car? You just got stronger. Why is that? You realised that it is possible, that you managed it, and that you conquered a task you thought would be hard.

It might be the same with making a phone call to someone you don't want to call, solving a problem that you are afraid of starting at, or going for a run, even though you are afraid that your body will not manage to do it.

There are so many struggles and things we might fear. But, on the other side of a challenge, lies strength from knowing that you solved the problem and suddenly it is one less thing in the world to fear.
