What Are EDSI Tokens?
Eddie Earner Income (EDSI) tokens are income-generating tokens on the HIVE blockchain that pay weekly dividends every Monday. These dividends come from 12% of the total HIVE POWER balance held by the @eddie-earner account, providing token holders with an impressive annual percentage yield (APY) of over 22%.
Token Supply and Mining
EDSI has a hard cap of 500,000 tokens, with an initial public sale of 20,000 tokens priced at 1 HIVE each. New EDSI tokens can be minted in two ways:
- Staking EDS Miners (EDSM) or EDS Mini Miners (EDSMM).
- Delegating HIVE POWER to @eds-vote.
- EDSM miners yield approximately 20% annually.
- EDS-vote provides returns of about 4-5% per year.

This Weeks EDSI Report
This past week, we minted 533 EDSI which is a little higher than normal but I am filling in the spreadsheet a few hours later than normal so next week mintage should be a little lower than our average of around 500 per week. The total in circulation is 83,618 which is just over 20% of the total supply so we'll be minting EDSI for years to come.
The account powered up 568.32 HIVE this week which is amazing as always. The total HP balance stands at 141,071.82. I never talk about it but if we wanted to beef the numbers up here, we could include the 6700 HP balance that eds-vote holds because it will end up in the eddie-earner wallet anyway. If we shut down eds-vote today for whatever reason, eddie-earner would get that 6700 HP in 13 weekly payouts of 515 HIVE from powering down and emptying the wallet. This is because when we started eds-vote, we took a small hit on the EDSI APY by issuing EDSI rewards to delegators before starting any powerdowns.
Anyways, technically eddie-earner has over 147,000 HP, its just 6700 of that is waiting to be transferred over into the main account so it used to increase the the weekly income pool.
This weeks HIVE income pool is worth 324.44 HIVE. This grows a tiny but each week as the HP balance of the account grows so it'll not be long until we're at 330 HIVE, then 340 HIVE and so on.
Fun Fact - We paid out over 36,750 HIVE to EDSI token holders over the past 164 weeks!
Hmm, the EDSI APY dropped by 0.05% this week, it's been 0.04% for the past 10 weeks. I would normally double-check all my numbers to get this back to 0.04% but I feel maybe it's dropping like 0.0409% and this will happen every 9-10 weeks. Funny how I can get annoyed at 0.01%, 1/100th of 1%.
This weeks EDSI APY is 20.25%, not bad.

I love how steady everything is, no matter what the price of Hive (and the wider economy) is doing.
Also, 20.25% isn't a "not bad" APY. When I compare it to the paltry return I get on my fiat savings accounts with banks and building societies, it's nothing short of amazing. Just goes to show how much we can earn once bankers bonuses and exorbitant profits are taken out of the equation !
