The American Space Research Organization has completed the first 'global geological' mapping of Saturn's largest moon 'Titan'. NASA's Jet Propulsion Jet Laboratory (JPL) has given this information here. According to the laboratory, the map includes sand dunes, lakes, plains, as well as volcanic craters and other inaccessible locations. In our solar family, apart from Earth, Titan is the only celestial object that has liquid on its surface but it does not rain water from the clouds and the sea and rivers on earth get water in the rainy season, instead of titan Methane and ethane are rainy and appear like liquids in Titan's very cold environment.
JPL stated that Titan has a methane-based active water cycle that has greatly complicated its geographic landscape. This research has been carried out by astronomical geologist Rosale Lopes and he has developed maps for this. He says that there are many differences between Earth and Titan apart from temperature and magnetic fields, but they both have great similarities in the surface and can be said to have originated from similar geological processes.
This research has recently been published in the journal Nature Astronomy and Lopes has collected data from NASA's Cassini mission for this. The mission was active from 2004 to 2017 and they have used Cassini's radar data to detect Titan's opaque atmosphere. Apart from this, the help of Cassini's visible and infrared equipment has also been taken.
