Hi Folks,
I would like to share one nice recipe which is often used at my home during the month of Ramadan. Its simple and all ingredients are easily available to prepare.
"Tamarind & Dates Sauce"

Ingredients:-
- 1/2 cup of seedless tamarind
- 1/2 cup of seedless dates
- 2 cups of water( for thinner consistency add 3 cups water)
- 12 to 14 dry Red chillies.
- 3/4 to 1 cup water for soaking red chillies(grinding it)
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp fennel powder
- 1/2 cup jaggery
- salt to taste
Instructions:- (1 cup = 255ml)
- Firstly in a vessel take equal proportion of tamarind, dates & jaggery(1/2 cup each)
- Further pour 2 cups of water
- Mix & boil the mixture for atleast 10 mins and then allow it to cool down.
- Add 1/2 tsp fennel powder, 1/2 tsp cumin powder, 1-2 tsp red chilly paste and salt to taste.
- Mix and mash tamarind & dates or grind it to make smooth paste
- Transfer the prepared sauce into airtight jar and store in refrigerator.
Serve it with any start dishes like roles, chicken patty, or even hot dogs etc...
