Sure it has its uses but at what cost. No platform will survive without users and the average social media user are going to look at the Steemit wallet and be overwhelmed. A simplified system is needed for mass adaption imo.

I get what you're saying and who knows maybe the will do away with it in the front end but keep its use in the back end and provide a more simplistic version for users. This is still very much a beta and we are the test dummies for it.
I still feel that regardless of mass adoption steemit will always be an exclusionary platform by nature that is run by subsets of communities and not just a mass free for all like we see with traditional free scale based platforms.
