A MUST TO LOOK INWARD FIRST

in #sbdtothemoon7 years ago

If a Nigerian likes something, they carry it on their shoulders and show it to the world. This is the reason the country is a fertile ground for just anything.Sadly, however, we tend to celebrate foreign brands and ideas more than ours. In the euphoria, we forget we too have something to offer. We forget we too can create brands. We love big things. We'd go for luxury rather than affordibility. So a young person instead of shopping according to the content of their pocket, would shop according to its size. We care less. Ifunanya has a friend who makes hair, but she'd rather go elsewhere big, even though her friend offers better. It's high time, brother, sister, we gave ourselves brain! Let's talk about Osusu, an African kind of cooperative, otherwise called "contribution". This is a cyclical contribution of equal amounts of money for individuals in a certain group. In Osusu, everybody gives except when they receive. And obvious, are the advantages of a system like this. To grow each other, young Nigerians can employ a system of Osusu. We must look inward first--at least this is the character of the average Nigerian. We must shout out each others' brands and businesses if we must have the desired attention our way. Young Nigerians are enterprising. We are changing, shaping the world from here!images.pngimages.jpg
