Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, peace be with you all
Many times in our churches and Christian organisations we hear of many dispute and misunderstanding which rooted from the misuse of founds. On a peaceful way, some leaders have sought to deal with this by avoiding the handling of church money.
When we read the book of 2 Corinthians 8:16-26, Paul also did the same thing. He asked the church to appoint peoples from the church to deal with issues involving widows. ( Acts. 6:1-8). In some churches, the pastors of the church leaders never allow people to spend the church found without their prior knowledge and permission. Some even do not allow any one to have access to the church founds except themselves.
When we critically look at today's verse, Paul was fully involved in raising and delivering of of money. But he also thought of it that, to put the church on a more transparent side he help the church by electing Titus and another leader to accompany him when dealing with church founds. The last thing he did was, he actively involved the leaders of the church at that area into the church finances.
2 Corinthians 8:20-21
8:20 We want to avoid any criticism of the way we administer this liberal gift.
8:21 For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of men.
How do we also us leaders of our local church manage such situations..? There is no perfect solution to this situation. But rather always we need to be guided by this verse 2 Corinthians 8:20-21.
Thanks for your time with me and I am @bigssam from #teamghana
Church leaders are not ordinary people and the are specially choosen by God, God says if you are diligent in his business you will sit among kings so it is normal for them to be rich and different but as a good leader you must be transparent and do what your followers will benefits from and not your own pocket
Thanks for our words of sentiments.
No, church leaders are ordinary people and they should never be rich. They shouldn't count the money or handle the money or make the financial decisions themselves.
The church leaders who think they are special are the kind of people that will steal money and cheat on their wives too. But God knows who they are. There's never an excuse for sin among the leadership. Their sin needs to be exposed and the false leaders need to be expelled.
Money can be quite tempting at times. So, church leaders and pastors have to take certain measures to ensure that funds are channeled to the right places and handled properly.
You are absolutely right the Bible says it all.
Enjoyable read Bigssam - thank you.
