Greetings and blessings. Welcome to my blog. I share a new reflection message about true delight in God's commandments.
Psalm 112: 1 says:
Hallelujah, Blessed is the man who fears Jehovah, and in his commandments he delights much.
The term "delight" refers to delight in something; derive pleasure from something. In another sense: have a favorable disposition towards someone; love or desire
In this psalm, the favorable disposition of the psalmist is toward the commandments of God. He loved and wanted to have that intimacy with God through his Word.
The same, the Lord said about his beloved people, Israel: "For God will find delight on earth and in his people" (Is 62: 4).
This refers to the fact that both the land of Israel and the people themselves will be pleasing to God.
In Psalm 112: 1, the person who fears God finds God's commandments delicious, attractive, pleasurable, pleasing and desirable. All this is done by a lucky man and three times happy.
@fany, there is no greater joy than this "delight in obedience in the presence of God". Only God makes man happy.
Thanks for sharing.
