Surely we have all heard that God looks and examines the depths of the heart. No one can fool God because God is omniscient, he knows everything.
It is up to each of us how we can offer God something that is completely to his liking and that is from the bottom of our hearts.
Proverb 15: 8 declares the manifestation of God's pleasure in offering a sincere heart and God's disgust in offering an unjust heart.
The offering of the heart of the righteous produces joy and the wicked offering completely displeases God.
The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to Jehovah; But the prayer of the upright is his delight.
The heart of the wicked is full of evil and abomination. His offering comes from malice and impiety. This offering is unacceptable in the eyes of God. It is like Cain's offering, which in no way pleased God.
The Bible says that God looked with disgust at Cain's offering. God knows the deepest of the heart of man. No one can fool God. Nothing is hidden from God. God knows the intention of the thoughts of a person's heart, and knows if the person is doing or giving with sincerity or simulation.
Cain could not deceive God, and God knew that his offering was already defective, so he did not look at it with pleasure.
Sincerity captures the love of God. When we do things for God with a dedicated, willing and sincere heart; God pleases and rewards with his love for the person. This was what happened with Abel's sacrifice. He did it with a purity of heart, which gave the best for God and God looked at him with pleasure, was pleased with Abel's offering and left it reflected in his Word as an example to be followed by all mankind, especially the Christian people .
The biblical portion we read at the beginning of this devotional says: "But the prayer of the upright is their joy."
The upright at heart knows well how to please God, he knows that his requests before God must be made with sincerity and without resentment towards his neighbor.
When the righteous cry out to God, God responds with pleasure and joy. The righteous is the satisfaction of God, because God looks at him through his Son Jesus Christ.
