He saw dry bones come alive

Greetings to all friends and brothers in Christ. Sometimes we think that due to the complexity of life, hope is lost. There is a saying that "hope is the last thing lost." However, when the situation we live seems to have no remedy, we grieve and want to abandon the battle. We give up and get carried away by depression, and we don't want to keep fighting for the goals we have set in life.

When the people of Judah were taken captive to Babylon, the hope of the captives fell to the ground. The prophet Ezekiel experienced a terrible depression, because, in his time, hope had become a scarce resource. As a captive in the land of Babylon, Ezekiel must have felt as desolate and useless as the pile of bones he had seen in the portentous vision God gave him (Ez 37: 1-10). The prophet knew that only a miracle could return the decimated and scattered people of Judah to the promised land.

However, while Ezekiel was sitting in the valley and watching the prodigious work of the Lord, a miracle happened before his eyes. Where before there were only dry and scattered bones everywhere, the Lord added muscles, tendons and tissues. Then, in those restored and silent bodies, God breathed a new life. It was a clear testimony of what he would do for Judah: he would take the dead nation dispersed spiritually and physically, and by his power he would bring it back to life.

You may feel in a total drought, defeated and emotionally dispersed. Perhaps his valley of dry bones is a great loss, a failed relationship, a disease that consumes him or a circumstance that is absolutely beyond his control and requires a miracle. Do not despair! The same God who breathed breath of life in those dry bones in the past is He himself who sustains him today and can infuse him with a new purpose and a new life expectancy. In the same way that He provided victory to Ezekiel and Judah, God is close to you and can make you triumphant. A simple breath of God, and your life will never be the same.
