Greetings. Today I want to share a new message about the courage we receive from God to overcome difficulties. It is important that we understand that every time God demands that we face trials and tribulations, he provides the courage to overcome them. David was a man of great courage and not just a brave man, because his courage was rooted in the sovereignty of God. In 1 Samuel 17 we see in action the supernatural power of God in David's life. From this chapter we can learn the following aspects that we will develop in this publication.
1. Defeat is never a viable option for the brave person.
David never considered the alternative of being defeated by Goliath. The brave refuse to look for escape routes. They set their sights on progress and victory. Never enter a battle with thoughts of defeat because that way you will lose all the time. Brave men and women know that their success is in our still God.
2. The brave remember the past victories and the faithfulness of God.
David had already faced enemies as dangerous as Goliath. In the moments before the battle, he remembered how God had strengthened him in the past to kill a lion and a bear. He had hoped to receive the same kind of help to prevail against Goliath.
3. Value is produced by the right attitude.
David knew he couldn't win by his own strength. He knew that God had to be with him or suffer defeat.
4. Brave people look to God and trust in his direction.
David's brothers made fun of him. Saul doubted it. Goliath mocked him. All that negativism did not affect David. Every time God calls you to follow him, expect opposition, even from those you least imagine.
5. Genuine bravery is immune to internal fears and external difficulties.
Those who refuse to believe in God are careless with the brave person. Take the time to study the Word of God and apply its principles to your life. As long as you trust the promises of the Word of God, you can always face your enemies with your head up.
6. A brave person makes creative use of available resources.
David selected five smooth stones and his sling as combat weapons, instead of Saul's heavy armor. He faced Goliath dressed in the powerful faith of the living God. No human being can defeat anyone who has their faith centered on God!
7. A person with the attribute of courage confronts his opponent with the certainty that God will succeed in the end if he obeys.
If we face the trials of life by faith, as David did, we will become men and women of courage and victory will always be ours.
Throughout history, humans have never been able to escape from crisis and natural disasters. However, the strong ones (mentally and physically) will always survive.
