Indecision is not a good counselor and we must end it as it affects our physical and spiritual life
Indecision can bring several factors of action in our lives which can be very unfortunate for physical and social mental health because really when this happens in our life we act in a hypocritical and inconstant manner.
One of the things that characterizes the human being is hypocrisy and Elias encountered this problem on Mount Carmel with the children of Israel and tired of such a situation Elias challenges the people and accuses him of publicly denouncing their hypocrisy which he insists on that they should follow the Lord with all their hearts or finish turning their backs completely since God hated hypocrisy.
Read:
Santiago 18:21
Elijah approached all the people and said: How long will you hesitate between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him; and if Baal, follow him. But the people did not answer a word. (New American Standard)
The indecision of this people fed up with Elias since this was not a good fruit because we must remember that the problem of this people was the hypocrisy that led them to be undecided.
Indecision is a state of disagreement and doubt in the human being that allows them to act with double encouragement and obviously that God does not like the indecision of people either.
In this regard, the apostle Santiago refers to it as follows:
James 1: 8
"The double-minded man is inconstant in all his ways." (RVR1960).
Certainly when a person has no firmness in what he does is because he is an inconstant double-minded person who does not make firm decisions on what he wants and this makes him unhappy.
In addition, an undecided person is hesitant in everything he does and spiritually never matures because it is similar to the waves of the sea one day high another day low or rising or falling at the same time.
The undecided person is not consistent with what he says or does and his actions and words are always ambiguous.
Indecision limits the person to make decisions because there are always doubts and fear in what is traced and the inconstant never ends what one day raised since fear and adduct paralyzes him until he loses his dreams or goals.
We must seek God's direction to submit to Him to seek his will and to help us have self-control over our actions and ourselves.
A man or woman of God must have firmness and assurance in what he does or says especially in the veracity of serving and believing God that conviction is what allows us to have identity and self-control in what we believe or do.
For this reason, Elias confronted the people of Israel on Mount Carmel so that they would not continue claudicating between two thoughts because it was a hypocritical act and lack of firmness.
@xioran, indecision is a very unfortunate state in the human being because it causes unhappiness and lack of firmness in their actions and this condition really frustrates their plans.
