Reminder to everyone : Investigate first before trusting random mail

in #scam8 years ago

So this happened to me while I was at work. I received a text from a random person that needs to talk about important matters to me and to send them my email address for more information.

Wondering who it was, i provided my email address and they sent me this

So this Mrs. Jenny had a dying wish and asked me for help. First thought that came to me was "How'd she get my no from a pool of millions?" and "this has got to be a scam"

So I replied to her that I was skeptical about it and have to provide me proof before i even engage with her in her endeavor. Then this came :

"wow this must be true!". I suddenly had to urge to help Mrs. jenny for the documents she had provided me. But I just had to make sure so I investigated her picture and found out it was fake.

If you google "woman lying sick in bed" you can easily see the woman's picture plus the death certificate she provided was made at Mexico (I'm not racist. It is just weird to have a death certificate in Mexico when you are american with a Filipino husband)

so to everyone especially the steemit community, please do the following before believing in mails you receive

  1. Don't give trust easily especially to people from the internet
  2. Check the authenticity of the documents they provide
  3. If it's too good to be true. Then it's not true at all

Hope this can help you guys one way or another. Everyone can prevent scams if they are informed
