My frightening dream

I remember my dream starting as any other dream would start with a beautiful night sky and coloured city lights keeping the night from falling into complete darkness. I could not explain the beauty I had seen in front of me. Then in a split second the darkness took over every inch of land in front of me and I could not see anything or anyone.

I was frozen to the bone so I could not move a limb. I was too afraid to move in case I would trip and fall and hurt myself. So, I just stood there in silence listening to the howling wind. I did not know what to think about. I could only think of how fast my heart was beating it felt like it was going a million miles an hour.

I have always been petrified of the dark ever sins I was a little kind. I suddenly felt an ice-cold hand on my shoulder but still I was uncertain if it was my mind playing tricks on me or if a person is just trying to find his or her way in the dark. I felt a cold breath in my neck Suddenly it all went away but the darkness still stayed. Then I felt something grab me from behind and was taking me to a place that I was not planning to go to, so I tried to scream but there was something else keeping my mouth closed to keep me silent.

I felt myself being tied up with rope, thrown into the car’s back seat. I could smell the dust telling me that the seats had not been cleaned for a while. I heard them mumbling to themselves but I did not dare to make a single sound. I felt the driver slam on breaks and the car came to a dead stop.

I felt the doors fly open and someone pulled me out and put me on my feet. The lights of the car lit up the street so that I could see where I was. The street was a block away from my house. I mentally prepared myself and just made a dash for it. I heard gun shots but I just hoped and prayed that they would miss their target. I loosened the ropes so that I could use my hands. I ran to my door and quickly unlocked it. My hands were shaking so bad that I almost dropped the key, but I did not waste any time. I flung the door open and slammed it shut, locked the door then I switched all the lights on and ran to my bed.

I jumped and fell onto my bed and closed my eyes hoping for the best. Suddenly I heard a loud thunder strike and I instantly woke up I was crying and shivering in fear. But thank goodness I was safe and sound in my bed and not inside that horrible nightmare.
