The sea pen is one of the 300 species belonging to the order of Pennatulacea, the Anthozoa colonial invertebrate marine animal (Cnidarian phylum). They can be found both in shallow and deep waters from the polar ocean to the tropics.

The name of the sea pen comes from its resemblance to the quill pen, although it is actually just a suborder of Subselliflorae that is similar to a quill pen, while the larger suborder, Sessiliflorae, has no featherlike structure.

Sea pens are almost always in place. However, if there is no plankton to eat in the vicinity, he can move to other places.

Sea pens become the favorite prey for starfish and nudibranchs or water slugs. If survivors from the predators and no shortage of food, sea pens can live up to 15 years.

But the power of Sea pen just they look so beautiful.
