The atmosphere was a lot different back then, too, which is why the dinosaurs were able to be so huge. Also, at some point or another, the light spectrum was orange, not blue. Don't know when this was, but the point is, there have been huge changes beyond the ice ages. I doubt many people would even believe that the earth was so different at one time.
