Researchers and scientists have developed new exciting technology that may meaningfully improve the healing process of burn victims.
People who suffer very highly extensive burns usually have to go through weeks or even months of treatment, with surgeons taking portions of healthy skin from elsewhere on the body and grafting them on burned skins. This process is very painful, takes time to heal the burned skin, chances of infection during healing is very high and patients are often left with permanent scars. The major problem that is life threatening issue for burn victims is infection, Skin is the protective barrier that protects individual from various microorganism and the grafting method takes weeks to months to heal the wounded skin which may expose patients to risk of infection with many harmful microorganisms deteriorating and complicating the curing process. A new and innovative technique that sprays a burn patient's own cells on the burn to help regrow the skin and drastically reduce recovery time is expected to be in market soon which is called SKIN GUN. Firstly, a patch of healthy skin is removed. The adult stem cells are then isolated in lab and grown to increase their numbers and put into a solution that is sprayed on to the wound. In another case, a old man suffered electrical burns after touching a live wire. Doctors isolated million stem cells from a healthy skin area and sprayed them back on to his body. After 20 days, the man was completely healed and discharged.
This technique has cut the risk of infections drastically because the recovery time using this technique is very less. Thus, reducing death tolls. This technique is fast, painless and after healing no scars are formed. This is the best innovative technique that will save many lives in future.
