#44 - Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence - Help Me Pick a Topic for My MSc Dissertation

The Master of Science (MSc) is in International Business Managment and I only have the dissertation to complete so as to be awarded the degree. Please help, all thoughts and comments welcome.

I am at the proposal stage of the dissertation and need to pick a problem or issue and see how ML and AI will help improve the situation.

Research Topic: Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence in Supply Chain Management

 a) Identify a research problem or issue

 b) Determine the purpose of the research

 c) Identify the main research questions

 d) Choose the research strategy and methods

 e) Write a research proposal

The purpose of this research is to solve business problems in specific relation to International SCM (Supply Chain Management) using the recognised reach methods to analyze the problem and present the relevant results and the insights gained.

In order for any business to prosper and succeed, it must have a robustly managed supply chain. Machine learning is certainly helping to improve the situation in terms of accuracy, efficiency and cost of supply chain management. Using artificial intelligence and machine learning is an evolution; it is becoming an inevitable progression for all businesses. It is a fact that there are already many good examples of potential business improvements due to machine learning and Artificial Intelligence such as those used by Amazon, Google, Facebook, IBM and others. AI has improved both supply chain planning efficiencies and provided optimised supply chain decisions. Some examples of machine learning include demand and price forecasting, etc.
