A really sad day. I feel genuinely bereft. He is a once-in-a-hundred years kind of person. His legacy will live on for a millennia and more.
He lived to a ripe old age though, with all that he had to deal with. What amazing life, and what an amazing man.
Did not know, about his demise ( never know what's going on!) This is what happens when you don't watch (or have) the news?
It leaves a void in science. Who will follow up.
