Spirulina/chlorella/AFA. Just sources of vegan DHA or something more?

Sure, loaded with some phytonutrients & weird colors, but these positive human studies have me questioning if that's all there is to it.

Preventive effects of Spirulina on skeletal muscle damage under exercise-induced oxidative stress (Lu et al., 2006)

3 weeks of spirulina and time to exhaustion on an incrememental treadmill test was significantly extended. "These results suggest that ingestion of Spirulina showed preventive effect of the skeletal muscle damage and that probably led to postponement of the time to exhaustion during the all-out exercise."

Impressive, but there's more:

Ergogenic and antioxidant effects of spirulina supplementation in humans (Kalafati et al., 2010)

I couldn't find a negative study on spirulina...
