Human brain is the most unknown part of our body to our scientists. It can produce such amazing psyclogical thing we are not even aware of it. The one the most thing that amazes me is dreaming and dreams.
Every human dreams when he sleeps. The one who says that he didn't dream last night , doesn't remember his dreams. Average human have approximately 5 dreams par night (or sleep if he sleeps at day time). Lucid dreaming is when you are aware that you are dreaming by realizing some things couldn't be posible. This is mostly done by subconscious part of the brain (dreaming).
This dreams can be controled in a way that you can do whatever you want in your dream but you need to pracitce.
Many people use this to achieve spiritual tranquility, and find peace or even some answers.
If you want to start and give it a shot with lucid dreaming this are steps you can do to achieve it.
Start keeping a dream journal
You don't always remember your dreams the day after the sleep but when you woke up you can remember parts of it. You need to train your brain to start memorizing these dreams . Good way is by writing them on a piece of paper as soon as you wake up.
After 2-3 days you will be able to remember at least 2 dreams
Always do reality check
Some dreams can be so realistic so you need to always check if you are dreaming before you do anything stupid like I did (don't ask haha). You have all kind of techniques like counting to 10, turning light on and off, etc... all this looks different in dreams so you will know you are dreaming. My technique is to hold my nose and try to breathe.
(this one is 50:50 but you can include it) Repeat "I will be aware that I'm dreaming" each time you fall asleep or something similar
This technique is actualy Mnemonic induction that drills your brain to do what u say to him conscious . As when you are awake you will do the same when you sleep.
To sum up
You need to be careful because there are lots of distraction because our brain doesn't want for to know we are dreaming, scientificaly said subconscious side doesn't want conscious side when we are sleeping and subconscious side is on a home ground when we are sleeping.
