The National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) was founded as a U. S federal agency to undertake, promote, and institutionalize aeronautical research on 3rd March 1915.But NACA was disambiguated on July 29th 1958.And the agency (NASA) was established on October 1st 1958 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Since that time most of the US space exploration efforts have been led by NASA. Which includes Apollo Moon landing mission, The Skylab space station and later the Space Shuttle. Currently, NASA is supporting the International Space Station and is overseeing the development of the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, the Space Launch System and Commercial Crew vehicles. Also NASA is responsible for the Launch Services Program (LSP) which provides oversight of launch operations and countdown management for unmanned launchers.

Since 2011, NASA has been criticized for low cost efficiency, achieving little results in return for high development costs.
The agency's in charge, NASA's administrator, is nominated by the President of the United States subject to approval of the US Senate, and reports to him or her and serves as senior space science advisor. Robert Lightfoot (acting) current Administrator and Lesa Roe (acting) is the Deputy Administrator of NASA.
NASA has conducted many Manned and Unmanned space mission and programs thought out its history.
