You got my upvote. Imho, the next logical step would be to zoom out and make a list of books that explore the topic at the macro level (innovation and the economy). Like J.Schumpeter. Would be great.

Thank you very much for your feedback. Schumpeter was indeed a pioneer in conceptualizing innovation at the level of the economy. Can you recommend any good reads?
Would love to. But unfortunately, that is the only one that I read at macro level, that provided the framework (hence my suggestion on the list).
Most are more descriptive of what has happened through the lens of history. They are great reads nevertheless but do not give a structure.
One of such awesome books is A brief History of Humankind that flashes out how innovation in language, culture, accounting brought us here.
