Here why you’re struggling to get out of bed in the morning

in #science7 years ago

There is nothing worse than having to wake up early every morning to catch up with your work, university or school!  In spite of the fact that it's a healthy behavior for the body! Then Why We Hate Waking up Early Every Morning?

The reason for this reluctance stems from our inability to leave the bed early, and there is more than one reason for this. The independent expert on sleep Dr. Neil Stanley and Professor Evelina, Paul Greengrass, explained that having difficulty leaving the bed in the morning has six major reasons. These reasons are:

Sleeping Schedule

Our bodies "work" according to a routine system that has a set of consequences. The mechanism of our sleepiness or alertness operates according to the rhythm of our biological clock in charge of the brain. Therefore, a change in the sleep system, such as going to bed late or sleeping at an unusual time, leads to a defect in the body's biological clock and makes it more difficult to wake up early in the morning.

The holiday

The sleep system is usually different on weekends and other public holidays. Because of this, as explained earlier, the routine of the biological clock is flawed and disturbed your sleep and alert systems. This disturbance causes you a time crisis as if you have moved to another area that doesn't have the same time as your old area and you are having a difficulty controlling your biological clock again. Which means that losing control of early morning vigilance is just like losing the ability to control your sleeping habits when you move to a different time zone.

the Snooze button

The alarm clock in different devices has a large part of the responsibility. Because of the snooze button, you can get a few more minutes of deep sleep and adversely affect your ability to wake up actively and easily.

Each time you press the snooze button and close your eyes, your brain returns to the deep sleep stage. As you press the button, you will feel more tired the more you wake up and then go back to sleep again, making you tired and angry from waking up early!

Genes

For some people, it's hard to get out of bed in the morning because it's recorded on their genes! Genetics interferes in this area because some people have genes that make them tend to sleep in the evening and fight to get out of bed in the morning!

Time of the year

There is a scientific reason behind our eagerness to wake up in the cold winter mornings. Our bodies interact to a large extent from the ocean to pick up signals to indicate when to wake up. During the winter, the dark of dawn and early in the morning make the body's response to wakefulness very difficult and turn into a struggle and a battle to leave the bed!

Your phone is the reason!

The phone has a prominent role in feeling tired every morning and knocking you out of bed. The blue light from the telephone screens raises melatonin in the brain and increases our sense of happiness and rush to follow up on the news and lose it through social sites until late at night, and of course, the difficulty of leaving the bed the next morning.

The previous reasons combined make the task of getting out of bed in the early morning more like battle .... !

Two suggestions:

Including some content sourcing information would be nice. The images sources are good but its not really enough.

Second, having all of the text centered makes the post a bit difficult to read. Try to explore various formatting styles :)

I am a medical student, For this post, I don't have an exact source for these information, It's a mix between what I am studying, and things I already know, I will make sure to do it for other posts from now on
Also, I will try changing the formatting style
Finally, Thanks alot :-)

It's a mix between what I am studying

Then cite a medical text book. :)

I try to stress that as science writers we are standing on the shoulders of those who came before us. It's important to give credit to where we find uncommon information. Though I understand once you've learned something you don't always have an accessible citation (I have this problem too).

I will make sure to do it for other posts from now on

thanks for giving an effort, most appreciated.
